چکیده

Morphometric analysis is mathematical evaluation and measurement of the earth’s shape, surface its landform’s dimension. Dhund river basin in Jaipur district Rajasthan India has been carried out to evaluate various morphometric parameters following linear, areal relief aspects. The drainage basin, which covers a total area about 1828 km2 lies eastern part with maximum minimum elevation 603 m 214 respectively. Morphotectonic like Hypsometric Integral, Sinuosity index Asymmetry Factor have also computed identify tectonic characteristics basin. Primary secondary data such as SOI topographic map, Cartosat-1 DEM other relevant were utilized. ArcGIS software (Arc Map 10.2) was used for geo-referencing maps, delineation watershed preparation DEM, slope network. 6th order having dendritic pattern A relatively lower mean value Bifurcation ratio suggests that formed by uniformed materials. Drainage little elongated shape less prone floods. Basin different erosional stages levels activity, Moderate Meandering unstable setting.

GIS and Remote Sensing Applications for Watershed Planning in the Maumee River Basin, Ohio

The Maumee River watershed is the largest drainage basin that discharges into the Great Lakes. Although the watershed is largely a rural landscape, several major urban-industrial cities, including Fort Wayne and Toledo are located along the river. Many water quality concerns are present, especially nonpoint rural runoff that contributes significant amounts of sediment into the Maumee River. The...

Landscape evolution in the Yellow River Basin using satellite remote sensing and GIS during the past decade

Over the past decade, rapid landscape pattern change has taken place in many arid and semi-arid regions of China, such as the Yellow River Basin. In this paper, landscape evolution was investigated by the combined use of satellite remote sensing, geographic information system (GIS) and landscape modelling technologies. The aim was to improve our understanding of landscape changes so that sustai...

Morphometric Analysis of River Catchments Using Remote Sensing and GIS (A Case Study of the Sukri River, Rajasthan)

Remote Sensing techniques with GIS were used to study the two sub-catchments of the upper catchment of Sukri River, Luni River basin. The measurement and analysis for the two sub-catchments were carried by using GIS for linear, areal and relief aspects. Both sub-catchments have low permeability, high surface run-off, and control of geologic structure. The morphometic analysis and measurements a...

Tsunami Vulnerability Mapping Using Remote Sensing and GIS Techniques: A Case Study of Kollam District, Kerala, India

Tsunamis are caused by the displacement of a large volume of water, generally in an ocean or a sea. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other underwater explosions, landslides, glacier calvings, meteorite impacts and other disturbances above or below water have the potential to generate a tsunami. The coastal areas of Kollam district, the present study area was seriously affected by the catastr...

Glacier Changes in the Susitna Basin, Alaska, USA, (1951-2015) using GIS and Remote Sensing Methods

The Susitna River draining from the highly glacierized Central Alaska Range has repeatedly been considered a potential hydro-power source in recent decades, raising questions about the effect of glacier changes on the basin’s river runoff. We determine changes in the glacier area (1951–2010), elevation (1951–2010, 1951–2005 and 2005–2010), equilibrium line altitude (ELA, 1999–2015), and accumul...
